The cinematic version of "Wicked", the popular Broadway musical and prequel to "The Wizard of Oz", has finally arrived, and we're all in love with Glinda (Ariana Grande) and Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo).
While some of us may choose a pink palette to honor Glinda and others might go for green and black to pay tribute to Elphaba, why not dig deeper into fashion history for something a little less expected that may recombine these shades?
For instance, a fitted jumper in the style of Pierre Cardin, featuring diagonal stripes in fuchsia, aqua green/emerald, white, black, brown, and yellow (for that hint of the iconic yellow brick road…).
Featured in the December 31st, 1967 - January 6th, 1968 issue of French magazine Echo de la mode as a holiday project to kick off the new year with energy and brightness, this chic design is certainly eye-catching. While it might not be the easiest project for amateur knitters, there’s always time to learn and craft your own version - or perhaps enlist the help of a friend who happens to be a wizard knitter to bring the idea to life. Enjoy!
