Yesterday's post focused on the "Palazzo Pyjamas" launched by Galitzine at the beginning of the '60s and a few days ago we mentioned instead Coppola e Toppo's jewels. So let's reunite the two themes with a picture from a photoshoot from 1965 by Elsa Haertter that was published on Grazia magazine (also mentioned in yesterday's post).
The shoot featured beautiful images of models posing in front of temples in Bangkok and Ayutthaya, wearing a variety of elegant ensembles. In this particular image the model is wearing a Valentino design matched with a parure - necklace, bracelet and earrings - by Coppola e Toppo. The best thing about this image is the fact that the model's outfit matches with the colours of the temple behind her and the composition ends up looking like a painting.
This example of visual fashion travel diary (weekly magazine Grazia started doing fashion photoshoots all over the world with professional reporters in the '50s) also makes us think about our days spent in lockdown with some magazines creating quarantine shoots with models at home directed remotely by a photographer and a stylist (Vogue Italia did a FaceTime shoot with Bella Hadid). Hopefully, we will be travelling - and discovering the world - again soon...
