This week the news mainly focused on one event, the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, the United States' Apollo 11 was indeed the first crewed mission to land on the Moon on 20 July 1969. We celebrated already the 40th anniversary of this special event and extensively published pieces about space fashion in the last ten years.
So, if you want to prepare to tomorrow's anniversary in style, you can go back to previous post and rediscover our notes on cosmic fashion and supermodern wardrobes, plus fashion tributes to the late Neil Armstrong and collections modelled by astronaut Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin; or you can check out alien, astronaut and robotic inspirations in ready-to-wear and haute couture; dynamic rocket-shaped garments and flat-packed shoes to wear indoor in space; the possibilities that water-cooled garments, spacesuits and prototypes of spacesuits may offer to fashion designers; innovative and experimental textiles, futuristic architectures in fashion accessories and how specific sci-fi films inspired photo shoots, collections, shapes and silhouettes.
And don't forget Space Age designers and designs from museum archives, women on the moon, sweet voyages to the moon and DIY designs inspired by space missions. Yes there's a lot to read and rediscover through all these previous posts, but sit back, relax and get ready for a fashionable trip to the moon!
