The possibilities offered by technology nowadays in fashion are incredibly exciting, but there is another word that has become a sort of mantra for fashion – sustainability.
Biella-based Tollegno 1900 has turned this dichotomy into the main inspirations for its A/W 2020-21 fabric collection, showcased during Milan Unica (on until today).
Tollegno launched a new fabric, part of its Tollegno Luxury line - made with 100% regenerated cashmere and with patterns and colours inspired by the styles preserved in the Tollegno 1900 historical archive. Based on the recovery of the fibre from already made and used garments, the process to make this fabric aims at promoting the preservation of the cashmere yarn with special treatments, while offering luxury consumers a more sustainable product. The Tollegno Luxury collection also features a range of double-face fabrics (available with patterns as well) that will offer designers a wealth of opportunities for their creations.
Technology also comes in the new Tollegno collection via its "Rainmaker" line that includes fabrics made for modern and contemporary outwear that are still based on wool.
Bi-stretch poplin, gabardine paired with polyurethane membranes or treated to become water-repellent (again a combination of natural fabrics with technological finishes for that trendy design dichotomy...) and thus suitable for making jackets, trench coats and raincoats, give the line a technical yet formal style, combining luxury and a casual feel, offering comfort and guaranteeing a high performance to consumers.
