You don't need to be a professional fashion designer, but just a keen creative mind, to step into a fabric, textile or haberdashery shop and immediately start thinking about what you could do with this or that colour, material, thread, yarn, ribbon or decoration. In Italy it is not so difficult (though the crisis killed a lot of them...) stumbling upon various historical shops of such kind, like the Venice-based G. Benevento.
Founded in 1883 by Giacomo Benevento, the shop remained open even during the war, passing from generation to generation. G. Benevento is well-known for its haberdashery offer and woven tapestry pieces and in its windows you can always spot colourful assortments of tassels, ideal pieces not just for interior design purposes, but for quick earrings, necklaces or decorative pieces for unique hairstyles. Have a creative Sunday!
