Among the speakers at the TEDxCopenhagen event that took place at the end of September there was also Eva Kruse, CEO of the Danish Fashion Institute.
Kruse did a presentation entitled "Changing the world through fashion" that is currently available online.
While her speech doesn't go into many technical details, it touches issues such as labour, pollution and recycling.
Towards the end she actually mentions the possibilities that fibre recycling may offer us all, an important point that should be developed further.
Kruse's speech may not be too in-depth, but the final message - we can all make a difference - is extremely important. If all the people who matter (especially fashion designers and key executives) would do something along these lines (yes, even a short TedX presentation) maybe the fashion industry would genuinely start changing.
In the meantime, let's keep an eye on Denmark: the country will be hosting on 24th April 2014 the world's biggest and most significant conference on sustainability in the fashion industry, the Copenhagen Fashion Summit.
