This brief Sunday post collides together two previous articles, Thursday's about Millefili and Friday's, about Giorgio Casali. This swatch made with Millefili's "Urukai" yarn (Spring/Summer 2014 collection) made me think a lot about this image taken by Giorgio Casali at Centro Fly in Milan in 1966 and portraying a model wearing a design by Krizia standing against an Op-Art background.
Designs inspired by Op-Art and by '60s optical garments à la Germana Marucelli are pretty popular for the S/S 13 season, but Millefili's swatches prove they will still be popular until next year. So, if you like following trends, jumping on the optical/black and white patterned bandwagon may not be such a bad idea (especially if you're considering investing quite a bit of money in an optical garment...).
