Alexandra Palmer, the Nora E. Vaughan Fashion Costume Curator in the Textile and Costume Section at Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), literally blew us away yesterday during her lecture for the "Trans/National Clothing Conference" at Bath Spa University.
Palmer touched upon different topics and, from a Tom Ford design for Yves Saint Laurent inspired by an Imperial China robe, she took us to England, Hungary, Burma, Paris (with Dior and Paul Poiret transforming Burmese silk into a cute little shift dress for his daughter) and Italy, focusing in the final part of her lecture on the Adaptive Clothing line launched by Izzy Camilleri and specifically designed for the sitting position of a disabled person. You can listen to the lecture clicking on the following link. Enjoy!
