The Fashion Week by Berns event is currently taking place in Stockholm and last night I was looking at more pictures taken during the 2010 Galan organised by the Swedish edition of Elle magazine.
While scrolling through the images I found this one of fashion designer Bea Szenfeld.
I’m not too sure about the rabbit head-shaped belt, though it created a nice contrast with the 50s lace and tulle dress she was wearing, but I'm totally in love with the teapot bag (though with the amount of notes and books I usually carry with me, I would probably need a rather large teapot accompanied by 6 or 8 cups...).
Both the pieces are taken from Szenfeld's Autumn/Winter 2008-09 collection and I'm looking forward to see what she will come up with in future.
Born in Poland, Szenfeld moved to Sweden in the early 80s and first studied at the Cutters Academy in Gothenburg and later on at Beckman’s College of Design in Stockholm.
The winner of the 2003 edition of reality show Fashion House, Szenfeld started her own company in 2002 and also launched a line called "Bea Szenfeld Vintage".
Since launching her label, Szenfeld presented her creations through fun catwalk shows and interesting exhibitions like the “Whatever Forever” event organised in Paris last year in which she explored the possibilities paper can offer to fashion designers.
Some of you may also remember the striking Spring/Summer 2009 couture swimwear collection presented during last year's Stockholm Fashion Week that featured some extraordinarily dramatic designs characterised by long theatrical fringes.
I found a rather interesting video on YouTube that features Szenfeld talking about employing PVC in her designs. The video is in Swedish, but I hope non-Swedish speakers will benefit from it all the same since it shows some close ups of her previous designs made with this versatile material.Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos Member of the Boxxet Network of Blogs, Videos and Photos Add to Technorati Favorites Lijit Search
