When I took this picture of the Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair shop in Stockholm's Mäster Samuelsgatan 2, the store seemed to be in need of some awning repair due to damages probably caused by the weather.
That said it wasn't the awning that interested me but the clothes in the window.
I love the black colour and they seemed to have plenty of interesting designs in black, especially knits with cable patterns and coats with draped motifs along the sleeves that tied with a ribbon around the waist.
My attention was drawn by a cocktail dress with thin shoulder straps displayed in the main window.
I actually found it also in their online shop (you can definitely see it better here).
The dress is actually made out of pleated squares patched together that create unusual voluminous layers and structures in the silhouette and give the black colour new depths. Clever, no?
