I hate self-indulgence and showing off, that's why I originally conceived this blog more as an outlet for art, fashion and culture related articles and interviews than for my own pictures showing how good/bad I look today.
That said, this morning I got two seconds of self-indulgent mania (intensified by the desperate need of injecting some positivity into my currently negative state of mind caused by flu and other related infections...) as Fustany, an online publication based in Cairo, let me know I got into the final list of their ten favourite bloggers featured in their latest Lookbook.
Apart from the more trend oriented features and short tips on fashion, shopping and beauty, this issue also includes an interview with Maria Francesca Pepe and coverage of the Spring/Summer 2010 catwalk shows from the main European capitals, but also from Dubai.
For what regards the "Top 10 Chart of Favourite Bloggers", well I was happy to see I'm in company of some interesting bloggers of different nationalities based a bit all over the world: there’s Spanish born but London-based Central St Martins design student Gala Gonzalez with her fashion “fotolog”; the ambitious Confashions from Kuwait, the first fashion blog from over there launched by a passionate Kuwaiti style fan; Nadine Sabry's Fashion Threads that keeps Cairo’s fashionistas on the loop; stylist Monica Rose from Los Angeles; Dubai born but London-based fashion student Tala Elle Samman, Jean Paul Gaultier and Balmain fan Couture Carrie from West Hartford; Krystal Simpson photography-based blog What Is Reality Anyway from San Francisco; magazine Haute Mimi and KatyaUK from Boston.
You can access the Lookbook after registering on the main page. Many thanks once again to the Fustany staff for stopping to read Irenebrination and giving space to it.
