As you all know there is so much talk about green fashion and ecowear nowadays. Going green has indeed become one of the strongest trends, yet there is something that I still haven't seen going green, cosmetic cases.
There are a few companies that produce 100% organic cosmetics or ecological brush sets and a few shops that offer refills for bath products or fragrances, but still no news of recycled plastic cases for lipsticks and such likes. If you think about it, we throw out so many hard plastic cosmetic cases every time we finish products such as lipsticks, eye or blush shades and so on that I find it almost incredible nobody has come up with an alternative solution.
Yet in the 50s natural cosmetic cases were already popular. The proof? This brief piece of news taken from a column about trendy beauty products published in a magazine from 1950 that features Lucien Lelong’s bamboo case housing one of the brand’s lipsticks.
