I developed a button addiction as a young girl. My aunt had (and actually still has...) a metal box in which she kept random buttons, some of them were mementos from old clothes that had been thrown away, others were spare buttons bought because they were particularly beautiful or made with rare materials. Playing with the button box was definitely one of my favourite games.
When I grew up, rather than playing with the box content I regularly ransacked the box, stealing buttons I particularly liked that I would then apply on my clothes and accessories.
I can now take my button addiction to new levels after finding an Italian eBayer selling buttons by the kilo, Jean-Pierre Moda. The quality of the buttons is very good as they come from a factory that used to produce stuff for Gucci, MaxMara and many other popular brands and the service offered is impeccable (the buttons are sent as soon as the seller gets your money).
If you're a button addict or you are a designer who uses a lot of buttons, check it out. Now, I just have to decided what to do with my 5 kilograms of buttons...
