Sunday Inspiration: Trendy Polka Dots (from 1955)

There are always cute and inspiring images in vintage magazines and it's often difficult to resist the allure of old Italian fashion publications.

This image for example is taken from the May issue of Italian women's magazine Alba (first launched in 1947; in the same year a group of its readers was received by Pope Pius XII who blessed them in a speech…).

The picture is taken from a shoot about trendy polka dots and shows a one piece (though it was meant to look like a two piece skirt suit) silk white dress with small black polkadots and a large black collar. "Looks a bit like a Miu Miu dress," some of you may say. Or maybe it's Miu Miu that looks a bit like this…
