Fluid Architectures for a Happy New Year

It's the first day of the year and most of us are still in a festive mood, so, as an inspiration, I'm posting here this image of a black double faced silk satin evening cape with bells on points over an ivory evening gown from Yeohlee Teng's Autumn/Winter 1992 collection.

If architectural fashion (and Teng's designs can be labelled as examples of "intimate architecture") is a precise combination of shape, structure, clear lines and sharp edges, this design is a perfect example of how an "architectural" garment can be all these things together, while being also fluidly magical and fun. Happy New Year!
