Kevin Kramp appeared a while back on this site in connection with the ITS#TEN Special on the winners of the Trieste-based competition and in a shorter piece on the ITS#TEN jury.
Today Kramp is back on the site instead in connection with a music video, ‘Discipline Your Hands’, by Minneapolis-based electro band Dearling Physique (the video is directed by Ansel Wallenfang).
Kramp collaborated with the group on various projects over the past year, mainly videos and photo productions, and created the design that transforms the band lead singer Domino (who will be in Berlin in September for some performance projects that will also feature Kramp’s garments) into a mysterious spider-like creature in this video.
What I find interesting about the design Domino wears here is that while being striking and slightly theatrical, it's definitely still wearable and not extremely over the top in a kind of Lady Gaga style. What's even better though is that it proves that, yes, knitwear can definitely be cool.
Looking forward to seeing which other designs by Kramp Domino will wear in his performances. Kramp's fans may instead be happy to hear he will be exhibiting at Milan's WHITE at the end of September, during the local Fashion Week.
