Today is the birthday of swimming champion and film star Esther Williams (she was born on 8th August 1921). As a child I was completely fascinated by her and by the choreographies she performed in her films, surrounded by grand sets and wearing amazing swimsuits and costumes. To celebrate her, I'm embedding here an extract of That's Entertainment (1974) that contains some terrific clips from classic Hollywood films featuring this elegant icon of style.
