It was rather funny to get this present the morning after yesterday’s post in which I stated a critical conscience, a beautiful mind and an extensively rich language are more important than 4,000 pairs of shoes.
But my post wasn’t out yet when my brother bought this chocolate pump made by the Sovico-based pastry and chocolate shop Vecchia Brianza. It must have been telepathy or just his will to take me around for insisting on finding some connections between art and fashion.
The chocolate pump may not be a Salvatore Ferragamo, but I can assure you it will give me some instant joy and satiate my chocolate cravings for quite a while.
Besides, since I got it today, I will use it to celebrate Irenebrination hitting 1,000 posts yesterday. Many thanks to all the readers who have been following my posts and to my brother for this ironic present! (The pics surrounding the chocolate pump show some Ferragamo designs, including the 1939 “Unica”, a closed suede shoe with a curved, contoured four-layer heel; the 1958-59 “Norma”, a black suede court shoe with decorative slits and kidskin line, created for Marilyn Monroe – you can't see it too well since it's the background; the 1939 “Gloria”, a laced shoe with three sets of eyelets and stitched patchwork upper in suede and the 1950 “Ave”, a shoe with suede and kidskin upper in patchwork style, inspired by traditional American quilts and the artistic avant-garde of the early 20th century; the 1939 “Alata” black suede ankle boot with coloured satin lining on the edges of the instep and the 1959 “Romantica” suede pumps, with stiletto heel and scalloped edges).
