The sun was shining when I arrived in Milan yesterday afternoon and, even though I felt tired for too many reasons, I decided to have a walk around the hotel.
I must admit I didn't go that far, in fact I just turned the corner and found myself in front of Yamato Shop. The latter is specialised in Japanese anime and sells books, figures, toys and DVDs.
The robots in the windows – among them also Goldrake and Mazinger Z – were irresistible, so I decided to get in.
The shop is well stocked and has got simply everything for the anime fan, from Hayao Miyazaki and Rumiko Takahashi's works to books about Japanese animation from the early 1900s to our days.
The shop represented a welcome break from the last few days spent bingeing on fashion (though more days of fashion bingeing will follow with the menswear shows…) and I also found Anno Moyoco's Chameleon Army, a volume with some fashion connections that I will hopefully explore in a future post.
