There were oriental inspirations in Haider Ackermann’s first menswear collection, presented last night at Florence’s Palazzo Corsini.
The internal courtyard of the palace, a wonderful example of late Baroque style, was transformed for this event into a crossover between a set for a Visconti film and an opium den. Jamie Bouchert opened the catwalk and entertained us at the piano throughout the event.
As Ackermann explained me after the catwalk show, opium was one of the ideas he had in mind while working on this collection.
I’ll be back with a full report on the event as soon as I put some order into my notes. In the meantime, here are just two very short teasers that may give you an idea about the moods and fabrics of the collection.
