It's definitely not my fault if the fashion and cinema connection keeps on coming back on this blog in an obsessive way. In fact in most cases it's the merit (or fault, depending on how you see things…) of interesting directors or designers who are looking at such topics from a fresh perspective.
Swedish freelance cinematographer and film maker Emil Klang is among the artists who are actively trying to explore fashion and film narratives in a new and original way.
Klang – who already experimented with such themes with previous shorts “5 Positions” (2007) and “Disappearing” (2008) – has recently launched a new ambitious project, a series entitled “The Weeks of Dasha”.
The project follows the vicissitudes of Russian-born Dasha Romanova as she moves to Stockholm and is going to be developed throughout 2010. Every Friday morning Klang will upload one new episode – each of them featuring creations by international and Swedish designers – from the Dasha saga on the project's site.
You can read more about this project in my interview with Klang on Dazed Digital. In the meantime, I'm posting here the Dasha episode from Week 4: I love its wintry atmospheres and the designs featured that are courtesy of Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair.
