Despite the crisis many people have been bingeing on Christmas shopping in the last few days.
What's worst though is that reckless spending never seems enough as today the sales have already started in many shops across the UK.
I often wonder what's left to buy to those ones who have been spending and splashing in the rush towards Christmas, but I'm honestly too scared to ask since Britain has revealed to me as one of the European countries with the most bizarre shopping behaviours around.
A friend of mine used to have a second hand shop in Glasgow's city centre and she had quite a few regular customers who often came around to leave items purchased during the sales that looked as if they had never been worn.
One day a woman arrived with a pair of perfect shoes saying she had got them for £5 at a sale, but they weren't her size so she wanted to get rid of them. When my friend asked her why she had got them if they weren't her size, she simply replied, "But they were a bargain at £5 only!" Amazing.
Anyway, if you are into shoes and sales, but don't want to make any mistakes and be tempted by the wrong size but a great price, or if you are still looking for a Christmas present for a shoe addict among your family and friends, check out Mark Schwartz's site.
Schwartz is a contemporary artist inspired by Roger Vivier, pop art and a very personal obsession with high heels who creates colourful illustrations of shoes on canvas and paper.
To say thanks to his fans and customers he has launched a sale of some selected pieces from 2009 that starts today and closes on 14th January 2010.
At least at Schwartz's sale you will still be able to get the right size of shoes for a reasonable prize.
