That “not so elusive” Christmas present for a fashion addict

FFranceschi_1982 Looking for the perfect Christmas present for a fashion fan can be tricky and it’s often a hopeless process that can leave you skint and may not even bring on the lips of your fashionable friend the desired effect, that is a happy and bright smile.

If you’re already on the lookout for the perfect yet often elusive Christmas present for a fashion or even a photography fan, try for a print of some early fashion photographs by Franco Franceschi.

I have just discovered there are 35 images by Franceschi now available from online art gallery Artmajeur.

Most of them were taken in the early-to-late 80s, so with the 80s revival we’ve been going through they look perfectly fashionable.

A few of them can also be seen as experiments in which Franceschi featured  another personal obsession, architecture.

FFranceschi_1989 Indeed, in some of the images available from Artmajeur the models contrast with the background, in others they seem to be perfectly integrated with the monument, the building or landscape that surround them.

All the images – priced at 120 euro each – were taken from fashion photo shoots or advertising campaigns for fashion maisons Capucine, Narda, Mimmina and Blan Matt, so the latter are also perfect for people with an interest in socio-cultural studies on how the concepts of beauty and fashion changed during the last twenty to thirty years or so.

Happy Christmas shopping then.
