Milano Unica is mainly considered as a tradeshow for textile experts and professionals, yet fashion fans will definitely be flocking to the next edition of the Italian show. On the opening day of the fair, September 8, ten international designers will indeed present their collections during a special collective catwalk show entitled “On Stage”.
The talented designers invited to showcase for their first time in the Italian capital of fashion their work are Alexis Mabille, Blaak Homme, Charles Anastase, Emilio de la Morena, Ilaria Nistri, Maurizio Miri, Sara Lanzi, Suzuki Takayuki, Thomas Engel Hart and Todd Lynn.
Milano Unica will also offer the designers involved ten individual showroom spaces where they will be able to meet with textile experts and professionals. Besides, the designers taking part in the event will get the chance of selecting in advance the A/W 2010/11 fabrics and textiles for their future collections.
The project – aimed at promoting the outstanding production of European textile companies and putting them in touch with new designers – is supported by Australian Wool Innovation and organisers hope it will also contribute to re-launch the renowned Woolmark label.
