The new campaign for Francesco Scognamiglio's S/S 09 collection was recently unveiled.
I don't usually pay too much attention to advertising campaigns, but behind this one there is an interesting dichotomy, stillness vs movement.
The images – taken inside a Milan-based historical palazzo and around its gardens – feature model Carla Crombie, who already appeared in the past on the runways of Scognamiglio's previous shows.
The photographs, shot by Simon, well-known for his work for i-D and Zoo Magazine, were taken as if they were movie frames, so that the slightest movement was recorded and frozen in time. I particularly like this image as it also features my favourite design from the S/S 09 collection, a shirt and skirt in which ruffles are alternated to cascades of appliquéd fabric roses.
