Catwalk Genius recently teamed up with fashion designer and embroiderer Laura Lees for a short film screening and reception at London Fashion Week.
The site has just launched a competition that offers as main prize 2 VIP tickets for the 21st February event. To get them you just have to send an email to talktous@catwalkgenius.com including your personal details (name, age, daytime contact number, address).

A while back Laura Lees’s graffiti-like embroideries have appeared on garments from Giles Deacon and Fee Doran’s joint collection. The Edinburgh-born but London-based embroiderer also teamed up in the past with Noki and received commissions from Luella Bartley.
As the years passed Lees focused also on a few art projects, organising exhibitions of her rather unusual and innovative appliqué paintings. So far her collections have featured delicate dresses, blouses and skirts all embellished with her painstakingly embroidered and appliquéd motifs.

Lees’s designs have also been sold at Selfridges where in 2005 the designer displayed her entire East London-based workshop in its windows. In 2006 Lees launched a successful partnership with Topshop and her embroideries of stars and lightening bolts appeared on a leopard-print silk dress that quickly turned into a bestseller.
Two years ago Lees debuted at London Fashion Week where she continues to show her collections. The designer’s creations are available from Catwalk Genius and if you want to take part in the competition remember it closes on Thursday 20th February at 1pm.
