Online shopping can be addictive, but, when it comes to menswear, it can also be annoyingly time-consuming especially if you’re a passionate fan of cutting edge brands and designers. Things have recently changed, though, thanks to The Corner, a site launched by YOOX Group that offers the freshest designs by Marc Jacobs, Viktor & Rolf, Helmut Lang, Rick Owens, Corto Moltedo and Veronique Branquinho, just to mention a few.
There’s something for every single obsessed fashionista and for every taste, from Givenchy’s footwear to Raf Simons’ suits; from brightly coloured knits by Rykiel Homme to minimalist shirts by Ann Demeulemeester and avant-garde cardigans by Bernhard Willhelm.
Autumn 2008 also marks a few important arrivals and projects: first and foremost Maison Martin Margiela has chosen TheCorner.com as its virtual shop in Europe and Japan. The second important piece of news is that Alexis Mabille will create a unisex capsule collection exclusively for the site that also comprises some of his trademark and very covetable bows, the sort of indispensable accessory this season, ideal to wear not only around the neck, but also in your hair, on your wrist or even on your bag.
The third project launched by the site is entitled “Styling Around the World” and it will take the site’s users on a trip around the best fashion capitals with famous stylists who will present some of the products sold on TheCorner.com through their eyes.
The first stylist chosen is Tsuyoshi Noguchi who works for many men and women’s fashion magazines and regularly collaborates with the Japanese editions of Vogue, Elle and GQ.
Guess you would have never thought that great menswear shopping opportunities where just around the corner.
